Heritage Open Days 2007
Each year Heritage Open Days celebrates England's fantastic architecture and culture by offering free access to properties that are usually closed to the public or normally charge for admission. This year between Thursday 6th and Sunday 9th September, buildings of every age, style and function will throw open their doors free of charge.
Curriculum Links
Literally on your doorstep, Heritage Open Days is an event for everyone, whatever their background, age and ability. It is also a great opportunity for schools to get involved and use buildings to inspire work across the curriculum and beyond.
We have created lists of highlights for each of our target areas. Each property or event is accompanied by symbols for one or more curriculum subjects and a relevant unit from one of the QCA schemes of work. Curriculum suggestions are designed to inspire rather than be exhaustive – buildings can help kindle curiosity in any subject area.

We are always keen to consult teachers to find out what they would like us to offer through our education programme, and to help us gain an insight into the many ways schools use the built environment for teaching and learning.
We have designed a short, two-page questionnaire in standard and large-print formats. We would be grateful if you would take five minutes to fill it in and email it to yaltman[@]civictrust.org.uk*
*As we receive a huge amount of spam mail, we decided not to have direct email links from our website. Should you wish to send us an email, please replace the brackets with @.
