Heritage Open Days Teacher's Pack

Heritage Open Days is about bringing people and places together, opening doors to discovery all year round. Designed for use across the curriculum, this pack contains tried-and-tested ideas for on-site and classroom activities, tips for arranging visits to historic and contemporary properties, plus a range of case studies and projects that use the built environment to inspire learning.

Teacher's Pack 2006

We have updated our popular and successful Teacher's Pack which, once again, is available for free download from this site. The publication now contains a wide range of new project ideas, from storytelling to oral history, from making model towns to learning through song. You'll also find extra schemes of work, tips from other teachers and much more. We've also freshened up the design to give the pack a more attractive feel.

Schools in our first year target areas will be sent hard copies of the substantially revised sections, while schools in our new target areas (Bournemouth, Hastings and Nottingham) will be sent copies of the full, revised pack.

To download these resources you will need to have Adobe® Reader® installed on your computer. If you don't have Adobe® Reader®, visit the Adobe® website by clicking on the button below.

We are always keen to consult teachers to find out what they would like us to offer through our education programme, and to help us gain an insight into the many ways schools use the built environment for teaching and learning.

We have designed a short, two-page questionnaire in standard and large-print formats. We would be grateful if you would take five minutes to fill it in and email it to yaltman[@]civictrust.org.uk*
